With a $30 billion portfolio spread over 840 high-quality office, retail and industrial properties, Charter Hall is one of Australia’s best property managers and investors. In 2019, BWD was commissioned to help explain how the company was creating long-term value for all stakeholders, while growing its enviable portfolio.

The solution

Working closely with the Charter Hall team, we wrote, designed and structured a sustainability report focused on sustainable value creation. The report emphasised Charter Hall’s growing range of sustainability initiatives and commitments, and aligned with the company’s recently refreshed brand.

The result

In practice, this involved devising a value creation model to succinctly capture key initiatives and progress, drafting a series of chapters and case studies on how the company was pursuing sustainability outcomes for the benefit of all, and creating a strategic framework that explained how Charter Hall was responding to the environmental, social and governance challenges and opportunities ahead. In the aftermath of its release, the report has been well-received, both internally and externally.
